“All About Seeds” -- First Grade
First graders in Trinity and Barnard Schools participated in a program designed to introduce them to the concepts involved in seed germination. They explored:
- Life cycle of plants
- Pods collected from local flora
- Parts of a seed making observations using magnifying lenses
- Requirements for seed germination
- Fiction and non-fiction books
The culminating activity involved growing and germinating bean seeds in the classrooms.
